1. Subject-Verb Agreement: The Golden Rule 📝
Dapat "agree" sila, parang kayo ng jowa mo! Kung singular ang subject, singular din ang verb. Kung plural, plural din. Simple, di ba?
Basic Rule:
- Singular Subject (Isa lang): Singular Verb (usually may '-s' o '-es').
Example: She runs fast. The cat eats fish. - Plural Subject (Marami): Plural Verb (walang '-s' o '-es').
Example: They run fast. The cats eat fish.
Tricky Cases, Beshy!
- Compound Subjects (And): If subjects are joined by 'and', it's usually plural.
Example: John and Mary are studying. - Compound Subjects (Or/Nor): Verb agrees with the subject CLOSER to it.
Example: Neither the dog nor the cats like to swim. - Indefinite Pronouns: (Each, every, either, neither, one, anyone) are ALWAYS singular.
Example: Everyone is here.
2. Vocabulary Power-Up: Alam Mo Ba 'To? 📚
Beshy, expand your word bank! Dito tayo magaling sa tagalog pero sa English minsan nadadale.
Context Clues:
Kahit di mo alam ang word, gamitin ang surrounding words para mahulaan ang meaning!
Example: The ancient manuscript was so obfuscated that only a few scholars could understand its hidden meaning.
Clue: "hidden meaning" suggests "obfuscated" means made unclear/confusing.
3. Reading Comprehension: Basahin Muna Ang Tanong! 📖
Time is gold sa exam, beshy! Wag mo basahin ang buong passage nang buo agad. I-scan muna ang tanong.
- Read the Questions First: Alamin kung ano ang hahanapin sa passage.
- Skim & Scan: Basahin nang mabilis ang passage para makuha ang main idea.
- Eliminate Obvious Wrong Answers: Palaging may dalawang choices na malayo sa sagot.
